My first visit to Mondavi dental was in January 2021 when I had an appointment for a cleaning. Although I was exactly on time, the hygienist, who obviously didn’t see me in the waiting room, reprimanded me for being late and brusquely. I showed me into the examining room. Without saying a word, she cleaned my teeth in a very perfunctory way. I did speak to Dr. Alexander about my experience and she assured me that the next time I needed a cleaning, I would have a different hygienist and a better experience. Fast forward to July 2023. I broke a filling and was beginning to experience some pain. I called the office and was told that since I haven’t visited the office for two years, I was no longer considered a patient and would not be able to be seen for several months. I reiterated that this was an emergency after which she told me that she would put me on an “emergency wait list” that was very long. (??!!!). This was totally unprofessional and insensitive. Hard to believe!

Lena is great. But you guys are too expensive (today almost $400, I thought I was just having a cleaning) and there is rarely a discussion of associated costs unless I specifically ask. Xrays every year is ridiculous, the American dental association recommends every 2-3 for wing bite X-rays. I do not have dental insurance. Discussions of what services are being provided, why and the associated costs should be standard. I will ask next time.

I went in for a cleaning and was told I needed a full set of x rays. I told my hygienist that I would like the periapical x rays but I did not want the bite wing x rays. She said I had to have both. After quite A bit of discussion, involving additional staff, they told me I could not be a patient unless I purchased their bite wing X rays. I refused. They offered to clean my teeth “one more time” and told me I would have to get the x rays that I don’t want before I could come back. No thanks.

Feels like a giant insurance money grab. It wasn’t about connecting with patients, it was a constant sell. Told me I should get fluoride (I’m an adult) without mentioning it is almost always not covered by insurance or how much it was. I was surprised when my basic cleaning (always covered by insurance) came to $60. Just despicable. I will spend years recounting this story to anyone who asks around the office if anyone knows of a good dental practice.

The treatment I received was "Warm" & "Friendly" from the moment I step through the door . Natalie was very kind and caring. She understood I was apprehensive about going to the Dentist. I have never been treated or spoken to as rudely and horribly as Dr. David Quinton spoke to me. My husband, children and myself are all patients of Breakwater Dental, that is until today. After having my front tooth “repaired” several times for a minor chip by someone at breakwater dental and the it continuing to chip, I turned to him in hopes of a second opinion and help. I waited two weeks for an appt with Dr. Quinton to be told by him 15 minutes into the appt that “he had a lot of stress in his life and did not think he could satisfy my expectations as a patient” without asking what it was that I wanted or what my expectations were. I think Dr. Quinton needs a major reality check, everyone has “stress” however that does not give anyone, specially a “doctor” or “professional” the right to dismiss a patient in such a rude manor. Shame on him for bringing me to tears and being so rude when I was never rude and was looking for help from my dentist. I am honestly still in shock and disbelief.

I was taken aback at the price charged for my recent replacement of the backing behind my bottom. teeth. The work was fine but the charge was $429, as if I had had 3 fillings. I do not believe that was the charge for my previous 3 repairs to this backing to control these teeth as one is very loose. No longer is that the case, but I question calling this backing a filling and being charged for 3 fillings. Please help me to understand this high price. The new dentist, Dr. Armstrong did the work. Previously it was done by Dr. McAdams.

Waited 20 minutes before the staff told us the dentist was running late due to an emergency and asked if we wanted to reschedule. We asked how much longer, she checked and found out it would be 5 more minutes. So we waited 25 minutes for a 2 minute appointment then was told to wait in the check-out line which was backed up. The check-out line took 10 minutes. I don't understand why we have to wait in line to check-out when she just told us that we were all set. I think you should change your check-out procedures. That was totally not necessary.

I always have an awesome experience here. I'm on the wussy side when it comes to having dental work done, because of lots of bad experiences in the past. So I'm a bit sensitive to these things. Dr. McAdams is literally the FIRST dentist to do something when I twitch in pain. Rather than telling me it wasn't so bad, he changed drills to a lower RPM one that didn't use the stream of water, and voila, no more pain. As simple as that, and my afternoon was much better than it would have been if I had to sit there and deal with the awful pain of having your tooth drilled into when you can still feel it. They really care about you here, and they do what they can to make your visit the best possible. Plus, they have top notch equipment in there, and they'll even let you watch your crown being made if you ask nicely! If you live in the mid cape and you're looking for a dental practice, this is the one.
